How To Charge PSP Through Using Via a USB Cable

Can I Charge My PSP With a USB Cable?

There are two possible ways to charge the battery pack inside your PSP console. The most common way, is using a wall socket charger that is supplied with your console. This is the most convenient way and the fastest to charge up your PSP, if you have access to a wall socket all the time. The other method is to use a USB cable, connect your PSP to your computer and charge it that way. You can charge the PSP via USB because the port can provide 5 volts to charge up the battery pack. Please be fully aware that this only works on the 2000 + slimline models. I have tested it on the 1000 fat style models and it doesnt work, due to older technology used on the circuit board.

How To Charge a PSP Without a Charger

1) Connecting the USB cable from the PSP console to your computer. The USB cable will have two plugs, a regular USB port plug and a mini USB port plug. Look at the top of your PSP slim console, you will see a Mini USB socket placed at the top in the middle. So get a USB cable and connect the Mini USB plug into the Mini USB socket found on the console.

2) Connecting the console to the computer. On the other end of the USB cable, you will see a regular sized USB Plug. The same size and shape of a USB plug found on a mouse or keyboard. Connect the USB Plug into any available USB Port on your computer. You will usually find some at the front panel or at the rear of the PC tower.

3) Enabling USB mode on the PSP. From the XMB, go to Settings and select USB Connection. The console will enter USB Mode and will connect to your PC. During this, the PSP will obtain power from the USB port and charge up the battery pack inside the PSP console. You will notice that the Power LED indicator will change from Green to Orange. This will show you that it is charging.

How To Make a USB Dongle Internet Modem Faster

If you have an usb dongle that you plug into a usb port in your computer and use it to access internet, performance wise it will not outperform a home broadband connection. The reason why is because a dongle receives a internet connection through a network operator transmitter, home broadband receives a internet connection directly through a wire. A wireless connection is not as fast and reliable as a wired connection, and that is a fact that will never change. If you have a usb dongle internet modem, there is a few tweaks you can do to increase the uploading, downloading speed and reduce ping timing, they are just listed below:

1)Make sure you usb dongle is in a usb port that supports 2.0, not 1.1. 1.1 is an older type of technology and is very slow, which as a result can reflect on the performance of the usb internet modem.

2)Use Mozilla Firefox instead off Internet Explorer because it runs much quicker.

3)Clear the internet cookies, cache and internet history on a regular basis.

4)Most usb internet dongles allow you a option to search for a network provider manually, instead of the modem searching for it automatically. Making your dongle search for a network provider manually, will make the dongle locate the closet transmitter around the surroundings of the usb dongle. The closer the usb modem is to the netwrok transmitter, the more uploading, downloading speed your internet connection is going to receive and there also will be less ping time. The reason why is because the usb dongle is closer to the phone mast, which helps your usb internet dongle to pick up more signal.

5)If you are in a building using your usb dongle as a source of internet access, you will get poor network coverage because there are loads of brick walls, which block incoming signal. So try pointing the dongle towards a window because radio waves can easily pass through a window, if compared to a brick wall.

6)Place your usb internet dongle in a high location, the more higher it is placed the more signal it can receive.
